NICHS works with people across all Northern Ireland, delivering services and carrying out research since 1946. Being a charity, almost 90% of their work is funded by public donations.

Care and Support
To provide care and support to people across Northern Ireland living with or at risk of chest, heart and stroke conditions.
Prevention
Actively offer services to workplaces, communities and schools across NI with the aim of detecting early signs of chest, heart and stroke illness while promoting healthy life style choices.
Their prevention services included:
- Full or mini health checks within workplaces.
- Online health talks/presentations
- Health and Homeless service with smoking, alcohol, physical activity, wellness and cooking programmes
- Talks and workshops for children and young people in schools
Research
NICHS provides funding to local universities and hospitals across Northern Ireland.
Since 1994, over £7.6 million has been invested into research, funding over 100 projects.
Campaigning
NICHS campaign and lobby local representatives and Government with the ultimate aim of introducing policies and changes that will lead to improvements in the care and treatment of chest, heart and stroke illness.
